I've been working with computers since 1975 - that would be high school for me. I've punched cards, I've even punched tape! I started as an electro-mechanical engineer who somehow always ended up in charge of the company computer system, then moved into a Network Engineering position with a food service company that had a national presence. Within a few years I had moved up the ladder and was VP of IT, responsible for in house development and the entire network. While there I was responsible for selecting and implementing our DR/BC solution.
For the last few years I was working for an IT services firm whose owner was also involved with a DR/BC hot site, we provided the tech support, and the design and implementation of various types of data shipping and recovery solutions. I also was the project manager for refurbishing a 3000 square foot datacenter for them, which is used for CoLo and DR/BC clients.
Currently I'm the infrastructure Manager for an international chain of fast casual restaurants.
